I like to combine an interactive approach, usually in one-on-one situations, with rule-based knowledge, using the student's interests to broaden his or her skills. My emphasis is on getting the student to put into action their knowledge, and expand from there.
Be aware that for learning a new language is important to practice everyday, therefore students are encourage to do self-study and homework.
