I have always wanted to visit Japan and learn the language. I started studying Japanese by myself as a teenager, but I didn't get to have professional classes until I went to university and studied the language for 3 years. When I concluded university, I decided to come to Japan and continue studying the language in the country.
I decided to apply for this job because, as I am staying in Japan for more than 1 year, I believed it is a good idea to make use of my Spanish and English skills in order to gain more experience in a field that I highly appreciated as a teenager. I also want to help others learn from what I know and live a better financial comfortable student life.
My name is Danielly Goncalves, I am 23 years old. I currently live in Tokyo, Japan, and I have been living here since Mars 25th 2024. I have a student visa of a duration of 1 year and 3 months and I am currently studying Japanese at Tokyo International Japanese School (TIJS).
I was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I moved to Spain when I was 5 years old and I lived there for more than 9 years. I learned how to read and write in Spain, this is why I am fluent in Spanish and I have the Spanish nationality. When I turned 13 years old, I moved to France and I lived there for around 10 years. I studied most of my teenage years in France and I graduated from a University in Paris, thus my fluent level in French. My whole life I've been going back to Spain to see my family during summer vacations.
I also started studying English at a very young age and I got to travel to England several times and practice my English, as I have family friends living in Sutton, England.
For vocabulary, I often use the dictionary. For research purposes I may use official exam textbooks such as TOEIC for English or DELE for Spanish. If I need to prepare a specific class, I will purchase books to help me prepare my lesson accurately.
When I was in High School, I taught Spanish and English to my classmates from lower classes. We would review the vocabulary and the grammar from their own course and focus on the points where they were struggling the most. I would especially focus on communication to help them improve their conversational level as well.
I also worked in supermarkets such as LIDL and fast food chains like McDonald's where I got used to dealing with customers daily. On top of that, I worked as a hotel receptionist at Best Western Grand Hôtel (Poitiers, France) for 3 months during my student summer break in 2022. Lastly, I currently work at Falafel Brothers Harajuku in Tokyo, Japan. I do around maximum 15 hours per week and I deal with English and Spanish speaking customers on a daily basis.
