I came to Japan through an exchange program at Waseda University in Tokyo as part of my Bachelor’s degree at Sciences Po Paris. I enjoyed my experience in Tokyo so much that I decided to stay for at least another year and continue working in language teaching, which is something I genuinely enjoy and find very meaningful.

Spanish is my native language (both of my parents are Spanish), though I am also very familiar with Latin American varieties of Spanish and comfortable adapting to students interested in different accents and cultures.
One of the things I love most about Spanish is the incredible access it gives to literature, cinema, music, and cultures across the Spanish-speaking world. For me, learning a language is not only about grammar, but also about understanding the cultural nuances and ways of thinking behind it.
I also completely understand the challenges of language learning because I have experienced them myself. I am trilingual in Spanish, French, and English, and I have also learned Italian (B1–B2 level) and am currently learning Japanese (A2–B1 level). Because of this, I understand how confusing certain concepts can initially feel for non-native speakers.
Having grown up in highly international environments and often communicating with non-Spanish native speakers, I have gradually developed strong skills in explaining Spanish clearly and logically. I especially enjoy helping students understand the cultural and linguistic nuances behind the language, as well as explaining concepts that native speakers often use intuitively (such as the difference between “ser” and “estar”) through practical explanations and memory techniques that make them easier to understand and remember.

I believe language learning should feel welcoming, engaging, and enjoyable. My teaching approach is therefore very adaptable depending on the student’s goals and preferred learning style. I am happy to focus on interactive, conversation-based lessons to help students gain confidence and communicate more naturally, because at the end of the day, learning a language is about connecting with people and cultures; and Spanish opens the door to a rich diversity of cultures around the world.
At the same time, I am also comfortable teaching in a more structured and academic way using textbooks and grammar-focused methods adapted to the student’s level. Having studied and learned multiple languages myself, as well as taught other subjects in academic settings, I understand the importance of balancing structure, clarity, and enjoyment in the learning process.

I have formal teaching experience in the social sciences, having worked as a tutor in History, Philosophy, and Constitutional Law at university level. Alongside this, I have regularly helped people learn both Spanish and French in more informal and conversational settings.
