I first came to Japan during an exchange semester at The University of Tokyo while studying a bachelors in economics in 2018. I was lucky enough to receive a JASSO scholarship, and that experience hooked me—Japan’s unique blend of tradition and innovation, plus its fascinating economic history, really sparked my interest. After finishing my bachelor’s, I knew I wanted to come back for more. Now, I’m here pursuing my master’s in Public Policy at Todai, diving deeper into economics and development while soaking up life in Tokyo.

Teaching Spanish kind of grew out of my love for connecting with people and sharing what I know. Back in 2011, I volunteered to teach chemistry in English to high school kids in Mexico, and I found I had a knack for breaking things down and making learning click. As a native Spanish speaker with a strong background in education and communication—like my time managing teams at Mexico’s Ministry of Finance or helping global Netflix users—I realized I could offer something valuable. Now, living in Japan, I see a great opportunity to teach Spanish, blending my cultural roots with my experience to help others master the language.
